Hi Guys

Sorry if this question has come up before. If so, could you please re-direct me the the thread? I'm not sure what to search for.

I live in a flat complex. Currently I'm running one SD Decoder on my TV. The LNB is gets screwed into the wall and at the back of my decoder, its only a single LNB.

My question is, will it work If I split the LNB into two, then the other cable to another decoder for Xtraview?

I'm on the ground floor, so I don't have line of sight to just add an extra dish. Otherwise I would have just done this.

Thanks

I'll try to find out, so far, every single person I've dealt with are semi-retarded, and not really willing to help much.

I will try and find out from them, was hoping I could bypass them altogether.

There are different kinds of systems and the setup on each one is different. There is normally a specific company (who knows the system), that services and installs in these communal complexes. It is advisable to use them...

Thanks for all the replies. I phoned the guy, he is popping in to my place today. Will hopefully be an open port in the basement, so I have two LNB cables, and then HD PVR goodness, with Xtra view

The problem with the 1 LNB and splitter, is the different polarization on the channels, so only certain channels will we viewable at the same time.

Tuscan Park Villas (Old Oak)

Hi guys - I just did a search on getting an HD PVR and XtraView to work with a single LNB.
Since it's now 2012 - have anything new arised in the meantime to make this easier to resolve?

At the moment I still have a 1100 decoder, but want to upgrade soon.

I PM'ed QT about this as well, but it would be great if you okes can point me in the right direction so long?

Edit: Maybe I should give additional info: I've read about all the splitters, settings etc etc, but I don't really want to lose a lot of functionality (but these were discussions from 2010). I know Multichoice brought out a new decoder after that anyway, thus my asking if this can be resolved entirely yet.

Thanks for any help!

Nothing has changed, but if your complex has a proper setup then it will work. QT should be able to tell you if your complex is compliant
