Hi guys,
Yesterday I bought myself a new HD LED tv and to go with that a HD PVR decoder.
I already have a SD PVR decoder and obviously I want to make use of Xtraview in order to use both the SD and PVR decoders on at least 2 TVs.
I just want to verify with you guys if I have the right equipment / cables in order to do this:
1x ABMS 2x4 multiswitch
3x F-type cables
So far I've connected the dual LNB cables from the dish to the multiswitch, and 2 of the F-type cables to multiswitch and the other two ends to the "Satellite 1" and "Satellite 2" connectors at the back of the HD PVR decoder. Now according to the guy in the shop where I bought it from, the third cable is then used to supply the "heartbeat" connection between the HD PVR and SD PVR.
Now a couple of questions that I have:
1) Shouldn't the SD PVR also have two cables that run from the multiswitch to the SD PVR (where the dish originally were connected to) ?
2) Where do I connect the "heartbeat" cable between the two decoders ? I'm aware of the RF out and RF in ports on the HD PVR, but on my SD PVR there isn't a connector marked as "RF in" or "RF out"
3) The two cables connected to the terrestrial atenna and TV1/TV2 outputs on the SD PVR, do they function as the "RF in" and "RF out" ?
If they do, which one is then classified as "RF in" and which as "RF out", as I gather that either one of them will be used as the "heartbeat" connection with the HD PVR.
4) An SLX splitter. What does it do, and do I need one for my setup ?
Sorry for the noob questions, I'm struggling to register on DSTV's website (I'm still in their moderation queue of sorts) so I can't download the damn Xtraview technical manual, hence my reason for posting here.
Any advice/suggestions welcome.
Thanks
