Hello and my apologies.

You know how it is when everyone's ailments are almost exactly like that except ..
So I've been reading this and other forums but maybe my search terms don't get me where I need to be.

As a technical exercise (for a non-technical person that loves reading technical stuff and gets confused easily) is it possible to hook up xtraview decoder with a single coaxial cable in a daisy chain?

I.e. is this possible?

Single LNB ((cable)) First DSD1131, Frequency X (cable)(heartbeat thingy) Second DSD1131, Frequency Y (cable) TV1, Frequency X (cable) TV2, Frequency Y.

My idea is to have the two decoders in maybe the same space, one facing forward the other facing back. With the one facing back with a remote blaster "attached" to TV2. So DSTV 1 is attached to TV1 and DSTV attached to TV2 permanently.

Its really sport for me and the rest for the missus :)

Thanks for the help!

You also need to feed each decoder with a signal from the dish (which is why your setup won't work because of your single LNB).

Maybe one of the more well versed guys can confirm for you

Yip. You need a feed from the dish for each decoder.
2 feeds for PVR (4 for 4tuner PVR) and one for each SD decoder

So:

LNB = one cable = 1x2 switch/splitter = cable to each decoder = heartbeat between each other....

Splitting a single LNB won't work properly. Each decoder needs access to both polarities which is not possible with a single LNB
You need at least a twin LNB

This was meant for a sd non pvr decoder.
Still wont work, assuming you mean the cable gets split to 2 single view decoders

If one decoder is watching a vertical channel and the other a horizontal channel they will be fighting for one signal, so only one will work
If they are both watching either VER or HOR then it will be fine, but its not exactly ideal
