.xxx domain goes live

A new .xxx domain suffix for adult content sites went live Tuesday, in a move which supporters say will help web surfers easily identify pornography sites.
 
Opponents of the new system, including anti-pornography and religious groups, say the move condones smut, encourages the viewing of pornography and makes it easier for kids to find.

Soon we will have www.vatican.xxx BTW kids already have access to porn, not like the internet didn't have it before.
 
Good, this will make te life a little bit easier for the oke's that have to do network security and content filtering of businesses.

When? 2020? Are the current billion .com, .net etc porn domains just gonna disappear?

ye, In a blink of an eye :-P. By this time next week, all the .com,.net etc porn sites would have been eradicated :-p

Agreed, but only if ALL porn sites comply with the .xxx suffix. I think search engines should also have a standard search engine and a separate ".xxx" for porn sites, or this whole idea will essentially be pointless.

I'm in full support of this, as long as Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. does something to help.

I mean, Google's Safesearch is useful, but a 6-year-old could turn it off, since there's no way of password protecting it if browser history is cleared.
