Senior Superintendent Siphiwo Hewena said Yengeni was arrested around 9am along Giel Basson drive after his vehicle swerved and landed on an island.

Patrolling police noticed the incident and stopped to investigate when they smelled alcohol on his breath.

When asked whether he had been drinking, Yengeni said he had not and that he had taken flu medication.

Unfortunately nothing will come of this(IMHO of course) even if the blood test results and docket manage to survive till his eventual court appearance in 5 years time :rolleyes:

Yeah I second that. Don't gargle Listerine mouth wash (other brands are available) before getting in your car. The alcohol on your breath from that stuff will put you right over the limit!

Thats it no more Listerine in the morning for me! Imagine if got to a road block on your way to work!

Yeah it was shown on Mythbusters a while back, ways to beat a breathalyser test. If I remember correctly, mouthwash was the worst method to try because it actually increased the reading. Don't think it would have an effect if they took a blood sample, but it's not good for the breathalyser that you blow into.
 
I think they're slowly going through a list of excuses until they hit one that works the best. Perhaps they all go drinking at the same pub and there is a hat as you leave full of excuses and you just reach in, grab one and if the cops catch you just blame it on whatever excuse you happened to pull out.
 
Even if he goes to jail its a nice holiday with free beer and a comfy house/cell.
There is no justice in this country if you are involved with government.

If he is lying about the flu medicine, he is a sly ****er that needs to be locked away, as he had that one handy in case...

People get higher bail for speeding. Even those arrested for minor offences got a higher bail than that. Come on Cape Town, w(hy)tf are you guys so laid back?

Best the ANC supporters get their gym contracts working for them. They will be carrying comrade Dumbass on their shoulders back into prison come the new year.
