Don't ask me why that's on my mind right now when I got a stack of paper work in front of me. Don't know if this was posted before, but how do you do your chicken at home? Did you ever come close to making/frying it like KFC( which is by the way is expensive now) and how.....

Hopefully you're not craving chicken like that gardener was craving for a hotdog....

LOL...Well , Cerebus, the stove at home is a couple of hours away - yes I like to make it myself somtimes..LOL. And no porn$tar, I'm in control. And ninja'd ? Never mind. Come on, no-one wants to share their home made secrets ?( thats for cooking that is)

Fine.

1 whole chicken
butter
fresh thyme
2 lemons

chop half thyme, mix with melted butter and juice of one lemon.
stuff inside of chicken with thyme sprigs and 1 quartered lemon. prick lemon wedges so that lemon juices infuse inside of chicken.

baste outside of chicken with thyme/lemon butter.

roast in oven. Enjoy.

Couldn't resist putting this here. Read to the end to see why!

MAMA'S BIBLE

Four brothers left home for college, and they became successful engineers, consultants and lawyers, and prospered..

Some years later, they chatted after having dinner together. They discussed the gifts they were able to give their elderly mother who lived far away.

The first said, "I had a big house built for Mama."

The second said, "I had a hundred thousand rand theater built in the house."

The third said, "I had my Mercedes dealer deliver an SL600 to her."

The fourth said, "You know how Mama loved reading the Bible and you know she can't read anymore because she can't see very well.

I met this preacher who told me about a parrot that can recite the entire Bible. It took twenty preachers 12 years to teach him. I had to pledge to contribute R100,000 a year for twenty years to the church, but it was worth it. Mama just has to name the chapter and verse and the parrot will recite it."

The other brothers were impressed.

After the holidays Mom sent out her Thank You notes.

She wrote: " Milton , the house you built is so huge; I live in only one room, but I have to clean the whole house. Thanks anyway."

"Marvin, I am too old to travel. I stay home; I have my groceries delivered, so I never use the Mercedes. The thought was good. Thanks."

"Michael, you gave me an expensive theater with Dolby sound, it could hold 50 people, but all of my friends are dead; I've lost my hearing and I'm nearly blind. I'll never use it. Thank you for the gesture just the same."

"Dearest Bob, you were the only son to have the good sense to give a little thought to your gift.

The chicken was delicious.

Yes, it's very easy to make. You fry the chicken breasts in the pan with the KFC spice :) I've done it a few times.

KFC spice ? KFC spice ? Oooh boy... Heheheee. Yours must have just 8 herbs and spices then ?

1) roll drumsticks in flour
2) dunk drumsticks in beaten egg
3) coat drumsticks in breadcrumb and spice mixture
4) Fry or bake.
5) KFC chicken is yours.

The key is the spice mixture you use. That's where all the flavour comes from. It's highly individual.
Here's my suggestion:
Parmesan
Thyme
cumin
cayenne pepper
