On several occasions now while GPRS seems to be offline and my phone attempts a direct data call, I receive a broadcast message (at least that's what I think it is) stating "You will receive a 100% discount".
This only happens when MTN GPRS access seems to be offline or not responding. As soon as I see the phone connects via direct data call I close Opera ASAP.
I've checked and I don't receive any discount. In fact it seems to cost around R2 for the duration of closing down Opera (thus disconnecting the call).
Anyone knows what's up with that? I've taken to using the crappy Motorola browser to check if GPRS is available (it prompts before attempting a direct data call) before Opening Opera and going online.
I'm on a Topup Contract, using a Motorola V360 and Opera Mini 3 (if that's any help).
