The young boy said that he would try his best to be a dad and at the same time, concentrate on his schoolwork!

The mother and father is not even a proper couple, let alone even approximating maturity. Their prospects are zero.

There are various shades of wrong.

Screwing at that age is quite wrong.
Killing someone because he/she is unwanted is wrong to the nth degree.

"these days" !?!!?!?!?!?

They were getting married at 10 - 12 around 50 years back, and can still get married at the age of 10 in some modern day Islamic cultures. Its only in the last couple of decades the age of consent has been pushed up... so all in all. Things are better "these days" than they were in past days.
