Hi there.
I have a bit of a crisis on my hands, I want to upsize a bit.
Current car - > Fiesta Ecoboost 1.0 Titanium (2014) Manual.
The problem is, looking at my finances, I reckon I can only get a car financed with 250k-270k, with a deposit of 85k.
Now, there's many many cars out there, feeling like a kid in a candy store, don't know what to choose.
I want a reliable vehicle, diesel or petrol, but since I use this for short trips, petrol is preferred.
I am looking for safety (airbags, mine has 7) and some fancy features, like cruise control, etc. Would be nice if I can use Android Auto.
Regarding Android Auto/Apple Carplay:
I have seen and experienced Suzuki's (Vitara Brezza) and Hyundai's Android Auto implementation (erm, Hyundai Venue), it was horrible, sluggish and poo-poo software quality, the UI looks like a china-designed Android headunit/WinCE. The Toyota Baleno and Urban Cruiser have Suzuki siblings. (Rebadged)
Don't like the touchscreen volume control, want physical knobs to control the volume. Steering wheel volume control is probably OK.
One thing that some manufacturers has learned...
VW cars is out, due to being too expensive, and insurance premiums is expensive on these cars (Stolen much?)
Not sure about Renault.
The only vehicle I can think of that ticks the AndroidAuto (Sync3 is one of the best head unit software out there, imo), airbag count and price, is the Ford Ecosport Titanium 2019 onwards. But, some says that the 1.0 Ecoboost engine causes problems, from burned holes in the pistons to wet-belt problems, such as clogging up the oil pump. How is the TDCI ones faring?
Apparently, it's so bad, Weelee didn't even offer me a price on my Fiesta at the Megastore today. My car's engine did not give me one single issue since I had it, apart from a rock-damaged sump, which I replaced, so probably mine is one of the solid ones. Regular maintenance is key. One of the best champs I had in my life thus far.
If anyone has some advice or recommendations to give, it will be much appreciated. No trolling, pretty please?
