Kudos yes. Newsworthy? Area newspaper at best in the scholastic section next to kids drawings and the newly appointed leaders

I was just thinking the chap might be reading this and feeling a little bummed ... gotta encourage the li'l uns as they could go on to something bigger and better.

This. While not the biggest achievement he could later be the one that wins the programming olympiad. We wouldn't know as this can't test that capability.

best of the worst... Anyone can do this, honestly.
Some of us spent our time programming from grade 8 rather then going to run in Paralympics.

CAT is the ideal way to say I am too lazy to take IT (unless you don't have the choice to take IT because teachers capable of passing first year computer science is non existent).

Just to expand a little, go to Tuks and see the CIL classes, they are packed FULL of people who barely know how to use a computer.

People equate CAT and IT to Maths lit and Maths, which it isn't.

Exactly, once again where the ignorance of some show.

I would have liked to do IT, but looking back it wouldn't really of helped me, whereas CAT helped me quite a bit. They are two completely different subjects that serve different purposes.
