Your average data consumption with streaming services like netflix, crunchyroll etc

Numbers of persons I suppose is important. What is your average data usage per month more or less?

For one person could I get away with 100gig?
 
Between 2 people, one only after hours and one at home the whole day around 150gb on netflix alone, everything in 720p
 
4 people, various streaming sources and multiple devices use up about 200GB/pm with everything in HD

This is streaming alone, other content added would make the total usage about 500GB/pm

Not so bad.

One thing that does bother me is that 're-watching bandwidth' could have been saved by just downloading it in the first place. However streaming is a lot more convenient having to download it. Pretty much the angle I'm looking at it.

Who really wants to download say 600 eps of one piece :erm:

Downloaded all of them :) -for me I think it's one of those anime that I will never delete even if google fibre is here.
 
I'm using 250GB a month just on Netflix. It all depends on your line speed, Netflix streaming is adaptive, thereby it streams the highest quality possible. I have a 20Mb/s VDSL line, so basically always stream at 1080p where possible.

You can set you playback settings to low, medium or high on Netflix website. I set mine to medium which gives me 480p. The quality is between DSTV SD and HD.
 
Hulu/Netflix/NowTV/YouTube… probably in the area of 200-250gb per month.

Just checked and I was wrong OP

Usage from June running over 40Mbs:
200GB on Streams
4GB on Torrents
22GB on "browsing" (image heavy browsing)
10GB on backups

That's it.

Then have done 117GB in total so far this month.
