33 posts and nothing, not a mention...

Oh waiter, I'll have the Eggs Benedict with a side of crispy bacon, a large orange juice and a cappuccino please.

I do like eggs benedict but its difficult to get a good one!

Nice! I like that idea. Going to send it to my wife

I'm not really one for sweet breakfasts. Waffles, crumpets and the like. Tho I can murder a dozen chocolate croissants for lunch :p

The video recipe Randhir posted (#32) is also a nice alternative recipe to this. My version is really not sweet, but it changes the general taste in regard with the traditional eggs and bacon on toast. The cool thing is that you can play around with the ingredients, keep to the technique and also try the one Randhir suggested.

Freshly made scones dripping with blackcurrent jam and a huge mug of coffee

If I had to choose something more substantial than cheese and tomato toast and a portion of chips with a huge mug of coffee.

Recipe please

The first time I made it, I just googled a recipe :)

BEANS ON TOAST, INDIAN STYLE
Serves 2

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1/2 large onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 can (415 grams or 14.5 ounces) baked beans
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
1/2 teaspoon (or to taste) chili powder
1/4 teaspoon garam masala
2 tablespoons fresh coriander, chopped
4 slices bread of your choice

1. Heat oil in a small saucepan over a medium flame. Once it is warm, add the cumin seeds.

2. Once the seeds start popping, add the onion, garlic and ginger. Stir well and saute.

3. As the onions become translucent, add the can of beans (undrained).

4. Add the cumin, coriander and chili powders and the garam masala. Stir, reduce heat to low and cook until warmed through (about 5 minutes).

5. Remove from heat and stir in coriander.

6. Toast your bread and serve with the beans and additional coriander as garnish, if desired.

Pinch of cinnamon powder, then a stick to infuse the milk/water. I add about 4 or 5 cracked cardomom pods per person also to flavour the milk/water. Remove them before serving otherwise they get in the way a bit.
