How has your breakups with your girl-/boyfriend been.

Were yours always accompanied by fighting, grief and pain.

Or was it perhaps a tepid affair in the sense that you just drifted away from each other.

Rather just drift away and let her do the break up!!

For me it was very hurtful when she broke up with me. So now I have been single since 2006 lol. Gives me time to perfect my art.

Does that art perhaps involve pictures of her on the wall with knives in it? :p

Drifted apart with me mostly, hurt and all in some of the more complicated ones, but yeah...there is always many more elements to it. My girlfriends have always been very unique cases...sigh! Maybe I am just a sucker for pain...

Well for me we kept breaking up getting back together. Been quite hard getting over her actually because i always remember the good times and never think about why i broke up with her so many times.

We basically broke up because my hand gave me more love than she did after 8 years :D. Never date a chick with a low sex drive it will never last, how we managed 8 years i will never know but finally i am over it and happy :D.

You know you can get hairy palms from that "art"?

Most of my breakups were gradual growing apart breakups. Had one or two with the whole shouting/threatening charade that simmers down after a month or so.

Most of mine were gradual growing apart breakups. Had one serious and furious breakup where she attacked me with her high-heels! :wtf:

The most recent breakup was caused by distance. She now lives +- 1700km from me, but she's been with 100's of guys since - so no real loss there.

After 12 years together and a year of drifting apart it was fairly easy emotionally. The financial interdependence was more difficult to unravel.

@Mila: Boundaries - You need them.

Boundries become a bit blurred once you let someone ejaculate in your birth canal.

Also Mila, it's probably no consolation but having guys go psycho on you after you break up with them means that you must be so awesome it breaks their brain when they can't be with you anymore. It's a powerful gift which means you need to use it wisely.

Finally.

You have been complaining about this lack of sex thing since 2006. So yeah, how you managed 8 years is beyond anybody. Go get a hooker.

Usually it's due to drifting apart. I know I'm losing interest when I slowly start contacting them less and less. I find these types of break ups usually hurt the least as both of you can see it coming a mile off so there's no real surprises.

I've never broken up with a guy on the fly, it's always been after we've both put some work in and I can see it's not going anywhere. I'll never just walk away from a relationship unless I'm certain we're not right for each other
. And yes it's usually me that does the breaking up :/

Oh and Brends, epic quote! I'm so stealing it :D Vonnegut is always so dry, I flipping love it

Most have been smooth. The one I am currently going through is a total nightmare. Just doing my best to get past it. Hell hath no fury...

Tell that to the men I break up with.:D I mean saying you are going to drown my cat if I do not take you back is not going to score points with me...I mean WTF!!!!!!
