I hate building computers, cause i always worry that my case is gonna be to small, not gonna have enough power or that could have gotten part X for 2 times cheaper. Anywaz, please can you guys help me out as last time I build my pc, parts weren't compatible and I ended up b/sing every 30 min. All I ask is for you guys to look over my specs and give me suggestions. Btw donno if 650W PSU is enough.

Here Specs.

I have provided the links so you can get details on each part if you want. Also I got a budget of R18 645.84 and it currently comes up to R17 114.00 so there is room for improvements. Lastly I dont have to get my parts from sybaritic but I would prefer too.

Thanks in advance.

If you are buying from Sybaritic, I'm sure you can get one of their techies to go over your spec, and make recommendations/suggestions. You should be able to get them to assemble it and install the OS as well (if you are buying the OS from them), at no extra cost. You are gonna speend 17K with them.

If they won't do it, find somebody else who will. I beleive that most PC shops will do this for you. Try PC International - they did it for me, but only if I bought my OS from them.

guy.. that chip is gastly expensive. I would rather go with a core i5 (dual channel mem) and buy another GPU + SLI mobo. i suppose it depends what your gonna use it for.

Rather get a Samsung monitor that has DVI (or even HDMI). The LG monitor you linked to is VGA (analogue) only. DVI (digital) is superior.

Spec looks good. Just get 1333mhz ram and not 1600mhz of you arent going to overclock the cpu. Also a separate cooler isnt necessary of you aren't going to overclock.

Use the money save to get a 500 WD black drive to use for your os.

Power supply is fine.

It sounds more or less fine.
I'd rather stick with the i7 - reason being that the i9 will run on the 1366 motherboard, so you can upgrade at minimal cost.
I'd suggest that you get a different PSU, yes, something in the line of a nice Gigabyte 720W (~R1000).
Quick question though.... why get the Nvidia case, and buy an ATI card? That doesn't make sense?

Thanks guys, will prolly upgrade my PSU to 700 just to be safe, upgrade my monitor, remove the CPU cooler. Qwiksilver what is a WD black drive? Is it a solid slate drive?

lol froot good point, but the reason i am getting it is cuz its sexy and I think good value for money.

New PSU: 720W
http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/product_info.php?cPath=73_269&products_id=19262

New Monitor:Samsung 23" Wide P2350 300cdm 50000:1 2ms
http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/product_info.php?cPath=66_69&products_id=26418

or: Samsung 23" Wide P2370 250cdm 50000:1 2ms

Dont really know the difference between these two monitors but the more expensive one got amazing reviews. PostmanPot, I think these monitors have what you said is DVI.

The gigabyte 720 watt isnt a real 720watt. That's why it's so cheap.

Sneaky Bastards.
Ok so here are four other PSU I have found.
Which do you recommend

Corsair TX750W
http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/product_info.php?cPath=73_269&products_id=14870

OCZ ModXStream Pro Power Supply - 700W
http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/product_info.php?cPath=73_269&products_id=39611

Antec CP-850 , 850w
http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/product_info.php?products_id=20956

Cooler Master Silent Pro M700 700W
http://www.sybaritic.co.za/store/product_info.php?cPath=73_269&products_id=17533

They all +- the same price range

That Corsair one is the best, but unless you are running two graphics cards a 650watt is more than enough.

18 grand on a pc that doesnt have usb3? seems like a waste to me.

Ok, so I think i will stick with the 650W, I just thought I needed to upgrade it as Foot mentioned that I should. Havoc, Im thinking about a Solid Slate Drive but they are SO expensive and I could always just add It in later if they ever get cheaper. Oh and i have already decided not to include the CPU cooler. Skusku ye i wanted to include a USB 3 motherboard but I could only find one which was 5 grand.

So I have basically decided upon my system, thanks for your guys help. However, I have been doing some research and quite a few people recommend the GTX 480. But I know that, that is a heated debate and it depends on the person, so I am not gonna ask your advice on which one I should get. But rather if i do decide on the GTX 480, are my other specs fine for it (power and cooling)?
