There is a fave button above pics, but that just marks it as one of your favourites, nothing more.
A group like this though, would "rate" your pic ( http://www.flickr.com/groups/score_me_in_colors/ ). But as to how serious people take it, thats another story

No there isn't but it doesn't cost you a thing to join, and then you can upload your own photos anyway. Most of us on flickr are just happy snappers anyway, so it doesn't make any difference!

You'd cry even more if you see how much comment spam you'll be getting if non-registered users could comment.

I do! Those animated gifs and "I admin for zzz, We'd like to have your photo in our group" messages are annoying as hell!!!
I prefer only some criticism and comments related to the pic not spam
Problem is I don't know enough people to get the wanted criticism...
I have joined a few groups and got a bit of advice / criticism. But I want more I would like a comment or two on every shot (I really don't upoad a lot).
Lol, think I must join a group in real life where they help/judge/crit your pics every week

I've left all those comment groups a long time ago... Nothing good comes from them.
Well maybe the people that belong to MyBB flicker group should start a "comment/crit/help" group where we can ask people to give some feedback on a shot.
Rules like no more than 1 shot per person per day should apply though
I suppose they're useful if you need constant affirmation or validation.
My flickr accounts are all non searchable and I rarely tag.
I would like the criticism to better my shots. You might not need advise / help but I do

I'm actually talking about the award groups... you know... rate 5 other images in the group, kind of groups.
Only Roux has really given me pointers and some constructive criticism
But no worries I am sure I will get some group thats active and will help

Perhaps join a local camera club?
Mmmm I would prefer a online thing as I am a tad busy. Studies + work + party + sleep and eating = little time if I actually want to get out to take the photos
Know of any online camera / photography clubs?
