The Vodacom Huawei data card AFAIK is not network locked. Your problem seems to be the Vodacom dashboard S/W.
Get the MTN dashboard S/W. There you could select the network of your choice.
(I am not sure where you can download it. It is supplied with the MTN Huawei data card)
Does anybody knows where I can download the dashboard?
Thanks

You're looking for the APN, try myMTN or internet.I need to connect on to a Sierra aircard and need data connection for mtn i.e.(virgin is vdata)

Hi,
What are the MTN data settings? Specifically:
The rest is quite straight-forward, e.g. dial *99#.
- APN (I've seen internet and myMTN, what's the difference, and are there others?)
- Username (blank or MTN?)
- Password (not sure)
Thanks
P.S. I suddenly starting getting a 720 error when connecting with my data card, and now I'm looking into the settings.

720 error: This issue may occur if the TCP/IP protocol has become unbound from the dial-up adapter, or if a conflict is created when a second WAN Miniport IP device driver loads.

I assume your using Pre-paid:
Load the relevant airtime on your phone, R 10 = 10MB, R 100 = 100MB, R 220 = 350MB, R499 = 1GB
If for example you want 1GB of data Bundle.
You'll have R 499 worth of airtime on your account. Dial *141# and the call button. Follow the prompts and sellect a 1GB bundle. This will convert your Money value to the 1GB bundle valid for 30 days.
Your bundle is valid for whatever connection type your using. GPRS/Edge/3G/HSDPA
Hope this helps.
