My SO was bored so she made an alarm system. It has a touch screen to arm and disarm per sensor and globally. It communicates with a linux server on the internet and has her own made app on the phone to control it from wherever we are.

She started 2 days ago and that where she is now. She thinks its very funny to track my movements.

Whats cool about this alarm system is that we can use old legacy PIR's.

I am glad there was not a youtuber around that day!

The little dog (Yorkshire cross a bit bigger than a cat) did not set it off at all and bounced happily through the area, The big dog (boerboel) was not co-operative during the experiment but seemed to trigger it perhaps a third of the time. So I'm happy that the spring hares and night birds won't be a problem as the dogs are in the innermost area and not where they would be placed.
That being said they are temperamental (the boards not the dogs:)) ie. they need time to map the surroundings (+- 1min) are fussy about power supply, the radio signal (from the esp) affects them so there is plenty that needs to be ironed out before they are foolproof.
All I need to add is FLIR on a PTZ and I'll be happy.

That looks very nice!

Never seen something like that, but perhaps a good search would yield something?
Nice idea to have both in one.

Lol, shes scared you guys will knock what she made.

I really appreciate when people get things done, because that's the real measure. Two days is more impressive because I've probably been setting up my alarm over a year.

And for some reason it took most of today to replace my computer desk and build half a toilet roll holder and I'm knackered.

Must say I'm very happy with the performance.
Yeah so am I, but I only have my devices on it, so it does not have much load. After reading so many people who didnt think it was quick enough to be used for this purpose... Im happy.

Its like having a very very functional AP
