is the 8GB version only available at the pishop at the moment?
Always great service ordering from them....but rather save the R100 delivery fee if possible.....
rsOnline will prob have it too but I don't think their delivery is any cheaper. And they're slow! (I think they ship from overseas, whereas pishop holds stock in SA).

Really? didn't know they offered collection. Wait... CT or Jhb?

BTW, when I ordered my Pi 3 from them it took about 10 - 14 days to arrive. (can't remember exactly, was a few years ago). Pretty sure they shipped it from overseas when I ordered. Just be aware if you need it soon.

Jhb....

Can any one guide me to using digital signage for my business.
Perhaps which app??
Which resberry pi to get?

Is anyone running a pi 4 off a 2A power supply?
I ask because I am considering getting a Ratel 860P as power backup, and it only has 2A on the 5volt.

Will only be running pi-hole and unifi server, so no video playback or encoding.

I fear it might be a bit light, my pi4 is extremely fussy, even the power supply (3A I think) from Micro Robotics caused it to complain.
I eventually got a 3.8A cell phone charger that it is happy with.

We used to use screen.ly there is an OSE edition and paid edition. We used paid version to manage 10 screens. Was pretty good and reliable until we switched to an in-house developed system.

Hmm this is not the things I want to hear!
I gona do some more googling and see what's out there.

Perhaps I could find a 2A psu to test first....

Now that it's winter, I'm finally getting round to it - has anyone done a water level sensor for large water tanks, 2500L+.

Been googling, but only finding for small tanks - or water bodies.

OK just plugged in a phone charger rated at 5V 2A and all is working as we speak.
Running headless, just a lan cable connected, with pi-hole and Unifi running.
Will see what happens during the course of the afternoon.

Are you wanting to fill a tank when it gets empty? I was thinking of using 2 of these for a min and max level so that when it gets to the min level, I activate a pump until it gets to the max level.

Yeh, I had a post or thread on mybb somewhere - my pump is about 30m along the wall away from my tank - and its paved, so it'll be a real hassle getting either the pump power to the tank, or a float switch to the pump.

There is power at tank - and power at the pump - so I'm hoping to have some sort of wireless sensor that can trigger the pump to turn on - and then turn off when the tank is full.

Had many projects with my pi3, none useful.
too slow for an HTPC, thinking of simping it away... to someone who needs basic office utility to study online.

Sounds good then, perhaps just check syslog to make sure.

Be carefull with that Charger though. The Pi likes 5,2V. Now ,2V does not seem like much But voltage drop due to spike in processing power can easily destroy the Memory card.....I lost 1 already.
