Your temu orders

Just did a R 300 "test" order. I used to get quite a lot of electronic bits from eBay. Chinese sellers would throw in free shipping (with tracking numbers) and you could get some great deals that did actually arrive. But the free/cheap shipping seemed to mostly evaporate around COVID. So Temu could fill a gap for me.

It's definitely a bit of a weird site with odd gag-gifty stock and a super hard-sell vibe. They have some niche stuff but it's patchy, at least in my niche. It's a pity the ratings are useless/fake. Some stuff downright expensive when you work out what you're getting. I had some fun guessing what the issues would be then sorting lowest-first to find out - way smaller than pictured, plastic not metal, doesn't stick, snaps at the joint, etc.

Anyway they definitely have stuff that's not available or way overpriced locally so it's great to have them around.

I just hope the free shipping doesn't turn out to be a massively unsustainable loss leader.

Made a couple of orders and got some stuff, Found a few interesting things as well, magnifying glass R32 @Temu and R200 for the same thing at takealot for example.

But the hattrick game thing was my last straw, constant emails telling you you won then a "you get 3 free items" game that you only have to do one more thing with no end in sight was it.

Removed the app from my phone, bitched at them about it and unsubscribed from their emails.

No way to end my account or I would have done that as well.

Just unsubscribe from their emails and yes the free stuff is very time consuming had to get 15 people to download and use the cursed app to get my free stuff but it worked and it's on its way already.

Yea, works wonders, that is 15 people giving them free advertising by trying the same crap you pulled on them.
 
I ordered 30 USB 3,1 hubs that were on special. The landed cost incl fees was R28,00 each

Well made, aluminium case with 5 sockets, the cheapest I could find at the time was Makro at R105,00 each

Buy while you can because South African is not happy with Temu and I can see business is starting to complain already :ROFL:
