Your temu orders

Is anyone else finding the buffalo tracking to be slow/outdated.

On Temu it says " In Transit Package arrived at airport, awaiting flight..." but on the Buffalo site it just shows "Order Confirmed"

They are having some hiccups of late, think we overloaded them.

All of them ask for ID, which they use as the customs code.

But what we don't know is if how and when that data makes its way back to SARS, and what happens to it then.

My guess is there's enough manual work involved, possibly on purpose, that it's just not going to be realistic to follow through en masse.

Buffalo might be passing ID numbers to SARS in handwritten notes via courier pigeon for all we know.

I guessed as much. I just checked because I want to pay the duties and not be the reason for a delay. Yes, I made the mistake of buying an item that I actually want fairly soon.

Doesn't really matter. They can't take your packages back. Worst they could do is put a block on your ID so your future packages would be confiscated at customs and held until you get a new customs code.

This 3 imports a year thing was implemented with container load or part container load imports in mind, not for importing a small bag with a roll of velcro tape, a few car door-panel clips, and a mini-screwdriver set in it.

Part 1 of my first Temu order. Order was split into 3 packages all of them cleared customs already.

Bunch of stuff to decorate my bee room.

Most are decent quality. The floor mats not so much. Grammar and some spelling on the two bee information signs are terrible.

I think I got about R1k refunds in price adjustments that I used on my second order that's also already in the country. View attachment 1698285
Looks good, you're just missing the Queen BEE

If you want high current draw then you'll have better luck with power tool batteries. Your local e-waste should have/get plenty of them.

None of those companies put your imports under their name. That would be illegal.

The government are simply not enforcing that insane law.
You seriously think you will find power tool batteries at an e-waste place?
This is South Africa and nothing goes to waste or in the bin, I highly doubt they'll be there in the first place nevermind the e-waste place handing them out for free or letting me scratch in their bins.

Junk order #7 arrived.

Some of the best stuff:

These tool bags are great quality, will probably get 2 more.
One is just for my Bosch cordless drill and all the attachements I bought off TEMU another for some hobby stuff.

This Smart tag actually works, will need to test a bit more.

I don't know if I will use these cables, but I have them anyway.

That's where I got mine... Guy was happy to let me scratch through the bins and sell them to me for 10 or 15 bucks a pop. Laptop batteries were 15-20 depending on size.

Ok that's encouraging, was that R15 for the whole pack?
How did you find the e-waste place, what must I look for?

Yip. Guy was smiling cause they get paid less per kg when selling to recyclers.

I just searched "e-waste" on google maps. You can also search "recycling" and give any of them a call, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

So my order has been with fastway since Tuesday, it apparently keeps going out for delivery and keeps ending up at Bay 5

Freaking Fastway didn't deliver yesterday, didn't deliver today. Their excuse is today sorry we missed you, it's like you weren't even here.
So since Wednesday my package is apparently driving around JHB every day
