I'm busy playing with a Tokina AT-X 11-16 F2.8 PRO DX lens, the build seems pretty solid and the pictures I have taken look good.

What I want to know is what is everyones thoughts on Tokina lenses.

All the lenses I have are Nikon and I have never looked at other brands.

Would you mind posting some of the pics taken with that lens? I'm also interested in it.

It's a very good lens, but the question you need to ask yourself is weather you need the f/2.8? You're not going to get the shallowest DOF out of it, unless you intend to do portraits at very very short distance. Do you plan to do a lot of shooting in lighting conditions where the difference between f/2.8 and f/4 (one stop) would be relevant?

Looking at the pictures you posted, I would assume the answer is no, and judging by my own experiences, there aren't many (if any) situations where I wished for f/2.8.

I've been dead happy with the Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6. It's cheaper, excellent build quality, excellent image quality, fast focus, greater range. That's what I would look at.

Sony makes lenses for Nikon cameras? Gasp I think OP will need to buy i Sony camera to use Sony lenses or look at getting an adapter which from what i know dont convert the electrical signals used for AF and apeature control

Couple of these on Gumtree atm if anyones been looking for - 1 for R4800......1 for R7000...both are DX versions....not DXII
