It seems to be properly called YouTube Music Premium actually. It's the successor to Play Music. Once the feature set has caught up and surpassed GPM, GPM will be discontinued.
Also, YouTube Music Premium doesn't exist. Either you have YouTube Music or YouTube Premium.
We've had two threads discussing it already:

It's well worth the extra money upgrading to YouTube Premium from YouTube Music. Ad-free YouTube on all platforms is really awesome.
YT Music looks very promising, but it won't pull me off Spotify just yet.

Pretty sure the pop I got when I opened the yt app called it that too.
Anyway, it's a slick looking app.
Actually, I don't know. Seems like whatever I chose to listen to tonight, YT reached in to the deepest recesses of my psyche and found something that I really like and haven't heard in a decade or two. Had some Suicidal Tendencies, Helmet, Body Count and even some Ugly Kid Joe, which I'm pretty sure I haven't thought about listening to since I was 16.Whoops, you're correct. Thanks for the info. Turns out there's a free crappy version of YT Music.
Anyway, not a service I'd particularly recommend at the moment. My Home page in YT Music seems to be stuck on the same crap. Some stuff I recently listened to, some stuff in my library, the same 3 or 4 decent curated playlists I've long since finished and recommendations that don't align with my tastes at all. The new music slider is woefully incomplete and doesn't include the new albums that just dropped in Spotify.
So, a long way to go.
I felt the same way initially. Give it 3 days of regular listening and then update us.Actually, I don't know.
