Now I'm all for population control but not the way the Chinese do it.
Yes getting rid of 5.5 billion(not just in the east) people is easier said than done.

Not knowing too much detail on the Chinese situation I think the situation had become desperate.
However, something will have to be done soon.
Like Global Warming that is not taken seriously. There is no plan of action in Africa for instance on curbing the rapid increases in birth rates, mostly amongst the poor.
Imagine what scale the next World War would need to be to bring down the numbers.

I feel no more sympathy for him than any other Cape Flats Kingpin.
Pity about the kid though, but you do put your family at risk by living that kind of lifestyle.
