ZA - Malacrass

Guess i just haven't done enough 'good' guild runs

ZA is a bit of an anomaly.
I've found many people struggle with it and I have a few theories why they do.

The difficulty level from Bear to Zuljin changes dramatically. People don't expect it to get so much harder as quickly as it does and as a result they underestimate the place.
Because they underestimate they don't take it as seriously as a 25man raid so they don't see the point in Flasking and so forth like they would normally.

The guild I mentioned have a 4 chest team setup and organised just for trying to get timed chests.
They only take the really good raiders and everyone knows exactly what they need to do.
All it takes is one mistake or one person who doesn't know his role 100% to kill your chest hopes.

My guild is kinda the same...we're too used to KZ

10mans aren't our strong point :(

Gotta say, doing ZJ with 3 healers, 1 tank, 1 hunter (me) and the rest caster dps... isnt as fun as it sounds when on whirlwind phase

There are way too many assumptions and baseless facts in this thread. Fact: A number of tactics can be used to do bear run and mala. Fact: Zero T6 (yes I said it) is required for bear run, mala and zul'jin. Honestly I hate to offer advice since its not always applicable to all but above and beyond, find ten people who you can co-ordinate well with. That how my guild works it nicely. We play together really well and communicate. Having non T6 is a challenge for but it can be done. Best time to spare for us = 4 mins. And we didn't even have our best grp comp that day. Check it out here:

I'm Neuman the hunter. I left before mala and zul'jin that day but either way it should give you an idea of dps per boss that should help. Happy playing.

We do bear runs with more alts than mains. As with pretty much every PvE event in WoW, knowing the strats + skill > gear.

erhh just wonder how my thread on trying to kill Mal for the first time became an epeen for the timed runs....not usefull info atm tbh.;)

Ok. Well all speed runs aside.

Crowd control as many of his adds as possible. This will give u as much dps time on the boss, remember that if the boss dies, his adds despawn.

owned when the soul drain, drained the priest abilities and mc'ed our shadow priest
Try bring Priest/Shaman/Druid + Paladin + Priest/Shaman/Druid (for a 3 healer setup) this way u can dispell MC asap!
in any run, Speed or not, its best to bring 2 dispellers. (Healer or *DPS)

If your tanks are having problems with threat off the bat ,kill an add to give him some time. If you going to kill an add make sure u can kill it in the time he is pulled till the time he starts using "Spirit Bolts" as this could cause some problems, ie) Pushback, re-do a cc spell.

Then move onto the boss and fight accordingly, wich means watch out for his drained abilities from players in the raid
