Hi everyone

I'm one of the hosts of The ZADevChat Podcast, a local developer-focused podcast. We're getting close to 50 episodes now and I thought it would be great to let more developers know what we're doing. Every week we try to talk to a local developer about their background and a current topic that they're comfortable with. The main premise is to help shine a light on the great local talent we have.

We're in all the regular podcast directories, and online at https://zadevchat.io.

If you have any feedback or suggestions feel free to get in touch with us. We're always looking for interesting guests to have on.

Thanks for listening!

I regularly listen to overseas podcasts on software dev topics. I didn't know we had locals doing it! My schedule is rather tight at the moment, but I will check it out this weekend.

any good overseas ones?

Adventures in angular
JavaScript jabber
Soft skills engineering
Java posse (no longer running)

There are obviously others, but there is only so much time, so those first three are my weekly dev ones.

Other good (well they are good imo) non dev.
Common sense with Dan carlin
Arsecast
Practical pistol show
Ted radio hour
99% invisible.

@OP, thanks, I will add to my subs and give it a go

So I listened to episode 45. I am sold. Sound quality was pretty good, and the guest Mike Geyser was knowledgable and succinct.

Good job, I have subscribed on iTunes.

Tech related in my player:

The Changelog
Debug (imore.com/debug)
The Bikeshed
The Cognicast
defn
Ember Weekend
Hanselminutes
JavaScript Jabber
The Ruby Rogues
Software Engineering Radio
Arrested Devops
Beats, Rye & Types
Ember Land
Ruby on Rails Podcast

Then I would recommend nearly anything from Radiotopia, Radiolab & Still Untitled: The Adam Savage Project

(PS: I listen to most shows [excluding Song Exploder & Radiolab] at 1.5x speed with Overcast)

I've listened to your podcast in the past. Not sure if it's been fixed but it did sound like you recorded it in your bathroom.

The last 30 or so episodes sound great, with the exception of one or two. Everyone on the show records locally and we combine all the single tracks into one during editing, so the final product is seldom affected by lag/distortion. We also apply loads of per-track adjustments, and a heavy dose of compression to make sure everyone sounds good.

Before then we recorded Skype calls and were very much at the mercy of our own tech.

Occasionally we have poor quality or infrastructure problems and then we double down on the editing to get it sounding great.
