Zanzibar vs Vodacom/Roaming?

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if this works and costs involved for pot/sms and data?

Best is to call Vodacom customer care to get the pricing. But overall roaming is a really bad idea. Get a prepaid sim when you land.

Will work, just depends where you are in Zanzibar as some parts are very though to get signal.

Zanzibar/Tanzania has a Vodacom network - (Vodacom Tanzania) as well so there definately wont be issues, however more than likely you will latch onto Zantel network, they have Zanzibar covered.

Words to rememeber when you there :

Pole pole - means slowly slowly, evrything is pole pole in Zanzibar, just relax and enjoy

Not Vodacom that is charging you those rates...it depends on the country and network used. They bill Vodacom and Vodacom bills you.

Just get a Zantel sim, works out to 3 minutes for R1. Can buy a 30 day Uncapped 3G for US$90.

HI guys. Just wondering...have any of you guys roamed in Zanzibar lately? A client of mine is going over next week and wants me to activate roaming. I wanted to email him the charge table from our intranet...but Zanzibar have been removed. I am worried that Vodacom no longer has a roaming agreement there. I do see on the Vodacom website that there is a agreement with "Western Sahara"...but I dont know if Zanzibar now maybe falls under that. My African geography sucks a little....
