ZBrush 3 has got to be, the best Software Program i've ever worked with! :o

I decided I wanna learn everything about this, and downloaded a 6-hour ZBrush Lecture Video, which shows you exactly how it works - I must say, it's 100 times better than a E-Book!

www.pixologic.com

I think the following pic is simply amazing, and ZBrush is so easy to use, really - it's unbelievable!

So, if you've got an interest in 3D Graphics, take a look a Z-Brush (Maybe a good idea to "get" some Gnomon Video Tutorials... (I got Meats Meyer's "Introduction to ZBrush 3", and he is simply amazing, and teaches you from noob to pro, very quickly link here )

They use for a lot of Hollywood movies, but trust me - it's easy to use, once you work on it for a hour or two! It's like working with Clay!
AFAIK they used it for beowulf...

So - any other ZBrush guys out there in MyBB Land, or anyone interested in this kinda stuff?? :D

Great :) lemme check it out , and thanks for telling about it .

I always wanted to try it. Don't know too much about it though, from what I understand you can import and export to almost any 3D app, is that true? I was looking at mudbox but this could be a better option. Will download the trial version over the weekend.

Yes, you get mudbox, and silo - but they are immitations, and VERY far behind. also, if you get used to mudbox, you won't wanna use zbrush cause you will be used to mudbox's interface, etc....

If you download a video tutorial it makes 3D Modeling a peace of cake - seriously! no 3D Knowledge required - just watch some videos, and learn.

That meats DVD I linked in the opening post, is VERY good - ANYONE can do it!! (i think it was 500mb - but it's worth it!)

Basically, there is no program that comes close to the Modeling quality of Zbrush, and NEVER, EVER this easy to use - 3dsmax and maya have caly-based modeling, but are MUCH, MUCH more complicated.

Actually, it would be almost IMPOSSIBLE to model the above image in those programs, unless you know your stuff and take 100x the time it would take you in Zbrush

I'm serious when I say this is the Best Software ever made.

I'm guessing that if you are talented, and really use and learn zbrush for 12 months, you can work at pixar/ILM/etc. yes, it's that good.

Oh, and the technology it uses, is awesome - no major super pc needed!

Average P4 pc - Can sculpt between 1-4 million polygons.

I'm not joking when I say it's FAST.

Nice app but I think I'll stick to Blender

LOL...man, that's like preferring MS paint over photoshop...

trust me on this one.

Let me tell you something...
I hated Zbrush in the beginning, cause it's interface is different to windows - so, after watching the guy work in Z-brush and photoshop, everytime he switched to photoshop it was like a screw driver being shoved into my eyeball!
I love the interface now.

but it's not about the interface (Which, IMHO, is the most customizable interface I have EVER seen)

It's about, being able to play around, with clay-like tools - knowing what it feels like to be a sculptor, but having much more tools and power, and ease of Modeling.

It's fun!

My First Model!

3.8 Million Polygons

(Still have to add Eyes...lol)

how big is it ?

30 Megs, but if you want a 6 hour video tutorial in 1024 resolution, it's gonna be about +-500 Megs extra - but worth it.

you can however just get the program and start sculpting on your own though - just click on one of the few startup models and start sculpting!

Thats what I did....I'm a masterful blob creator :D I wish I had more time to fiddle with this kind of thing:( Very nice program btw.

I've never seen anything as wrong as that in my life. But yeah, good luck getting into pixar with 12 months LEARNING experience ;)
