During the last month a school in the Department of Basic Education can apply for a zero rate on their home sites. This means that the website can offer downloads of work without the user on the mobile network having to pay for data to download files.
Our site hselspark.co.za was registered by the department of education on 3 May 2020.
However, our learners find that they still need to use data to download files from the website.
According to sources to be able to download from the website the user on the network need to have the following:
1. Active simcards
2. A very minimal data bundle to register on the network and send data to the site for downloads.
However, the fact remains that the user still need to use and pay for data for the downloads.
Explanations as to this remains unclear.
Please help in obtaining credible information around this. Our learners need to continue studying and access to school resources are indispensable, especially poor learners.
