Madonsela also found that the involvement of premier Helen Zille's political and special advisers in the tender bidding process was "unlawful" and that it "rendered the entire procurement process invalid". She said it constituted "improper conduct and maladministration".

Thuli Madonsela for President... Doesn't descriminate, tells it like it is!

Selective quoting?

But she absolved Zille of any blame. "No evidence or information was presented or found ... indicating that the premier was in any manner involved in the procurement process."

She laid the blame squarely on Gerber, saying he was responsible for the decision to involve the advisers in the process.

She also dismissed a complaint that the tender was not advertised or that it would ultimately cost R1-billion as "without substance", as initially reported.

If nothing else this forum should teach people to not jump to conclusions when reading headlines, and read the actual article.
Then work out for youself why the article was written, what the point of it is, and is there any b.s in it.

Kinda like what they taught us in English class back in the day...
Adding to that; an article is the view of a single journalist

Zille has some cleaning up to do again. Gerber, Coetzee and Davis potentially facing the chop.

I do agree that some discipline is in order. But I don't think they should be fired. They made a mistake and guidelines have been put in place to prevent such an issue recurring.

Add to that that this is mostly the result of inexperience, due to the fact that the DA has only held power for a couple of years. Hopefully they have learnt and we won't see a situation like this occurring again.

"potentially"

anc = 11.6-million national votes = in power, more money to be corrupt with... and more corrupt officials
da = 2.9-million national votes = not so much in power (only in the western cape where the alleged corruption took place), less money to be corrupt with... go figure!
Do you think that 11.6 million votes will ever come down?

when all else fails... let's question the integrity of the media? ... the very same media that's often hailed as sweet-hearts and independent when exposing anc-related corruption...? wow ... * washes hands, Pilate style*

So instead of focussing on what went wrong with this procurement issue you want to turn it into another ANC/DA flame war?

Shame, getting desperate, are you? Trawl the Sunday Times and post some more articles.... OOPS, most of them are nailing the ANC, so I doubt it.

if you read carefully, my post was in response to Bullvein's post... why are you only slating me for the anc/da association. and my original post mentioned neither the DA nor the ANC... selective reading...

Why bother replying to peoples' posts that are off topic? Report it and keep to the topic...

I don't doubt that there were errors made in this process as highlighted in the preliminary report. Now all parties (not political parties) have the opportunity to respond and set the record straight where it needs to be and also indicate where corrective action is required or where it has already been corrected. The deadline for this is the end of May.

Going to be interesting!
