Zim influences SA

The masses are not educated enough to realise that this last ditch effort, completely ruined any hope for a recovery.

Yes, but there is hope, aside from the South African intervention, Zimbabwe like South Africa is not a country with only ignorant people, there are many intellectuals in both countries. Zimbabwean intellectuals have already seen the folly of Bob's ways and need to start speaking out.

I am not going to go into what South Africans need to do to stop a similair situation in this country, I have done that so often on this forum, that I just don't have the energy

Unfortunately, people are just too scared to speak out. At least, those with anything to lose are.

They can speak out from outside the country, hopefully though once the negotiations are underway, people will be more prepared to speak out

I haver heard that there is already alot of 'behind the scenes' work going on to bring the ruling ZANU-PF and MDC parties together around a table to negotiate.

Mugabe knows his time is running out, and this is a last ditch attempt to curry favour with the masses - you know, "hey look at me Im concerned for your wellbeing and have slashed prices and brought down inflation"

Desperate attempt really, hopefully as part of the negotiations Mugabe won't be offered a nice comfortable retirement in SA. These dictators need to see their actions have consequences.

A lot of people I know from Zim are too scared to speak out because they still have family/friends in Zim. I've heard specifically of cases where after speaking out here they've had relatives in Zim arrested and threatened etc. I've even heard of people being directly threatened in SA actually.

People like Cathy Buckle have been speaking out for ages, inside the country. But the fact that Mugabe ignores all criticism, and the rest of the world doesn't want to get involved means that the criticism is pretty much useless.

There are realistically three options in Zimbabwe:
(1) Mugabe dies.
(2) Foreign intervention
(3) Uprising / revolution

Since Mugabe has been in power for 27 years now, I see it as highly unlikely that he is going to step down. He has played the negotiations card before. In essence, it is simply a tactic to buy time.

The MDC should sit tight, the way it looks now, the MDC holds all the aces at the moment.
Zanu-PF is in a self destruct cycle and the only reason they want to talk is to maintain power post Mugabe.

Indeed, there are people who speak out from inside the country and they get beaten up or whatever.

Mugabe's government is no different than the National Party in SA in terms of using power to stay in control. The difference here is that Mugabe's guavament is black therefore it will continue to do as it pleases with no fear of repercussions. And when Mugabe is dead and buried, someone else like him will take his place.

Can we now say to Mbeki - "Told you so".

Wonder how long it is before FIFA withdraws 2010 from SA due to instability issues.

FIfa won't withdraw 2010, why should Zimbabwe problems become south Africa problems? Why it won't become Zambia problems? Mbeki cannot support the UK/USA coup attempt against President Mugabe. If he does then he put the whole continent in danger of another occupation and that won't happen. All my best wishes to president Mugabe, may God protect Zimbabwe and president Mugabe against the coup attempt.

Where is my signature gone? Strange things happen in this forum; almost like the Mafia.

it won't be long before i won't be able to log in, if that happen it won't be a suprise, i may be facing a coup attemp too

Shaka, I've missed you... where have you been? You're far to adorable for words and funny too :D

Nice to hear that. i just want to inform you that i will be banned soon, i am sure you will be relieved once it is done. the only thing i do not undestand is why are they pretending to respect to rules, why can't they just do it without pretending to be fair and balanced when even a baby will see there is nothing fair and balanced here

Signatures are removed because it is questionable.

If my signature was "Shaka is an idiot" they would remove it in due time, though not immediately.

Anyway Shaka, how did Britain and America manage to bring Zim to its knees? Was Mugabe incompetent? Was Mugabe so incompetent to the degree that evil Britain and America has won? Must make the rulers of those countries pretty smart compared to old Mugabe.

USA and UK won't bother entering to Zimbabwe, because its worthless, one American company can buy the whole of Zimbabwe if they were so inclined. Google can buy the whole of Kenya.

Zimbabwe is burning down, burning down, burning down.
Zimbabwe is burning down.
My fair lady.

They banned people for far less than what you do.
The moderators have been very patient with you as far as I can tell.

Before you go Shaka, you were my favourite idiot, I will think back to you when I see RSA has tumbled like Zim has, due to racist or stupid government policies. RSA values political popularity over the long-term welfare of their own people also.

Yes. I find my posts and threads are deleted as they please. The moderators have double standards. They say in the Caution that negative news or threads must not be posted, but they are still being posted. Why punish us by removing our posts as they please, but do nothing against the people that post negative topics??

They are surpressing free discussion and right to own free opinion, by deleting posts as they please. Very disconcerting.

Negative views would be posting an article on racial tension, which does nothing but increase racial tension. It makes people respond with negative, emotional comments.

Zimbabwe going down the drain officially is not negative in the same sense.

I am sure you are smart enough to comprehend the differences if you put aside your prejudices.

LOL, that behind the scenes works has been going on for years now and havent gone anywhere, basically the ZanuPF doesnt want to ever see the MDC and tell lies about wanting too...
