The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) has approved Starlink's licensing in the country.

TBH - ICASA is a lot better these days - but they are not the ones doing the hamstringing, you can thank the ANC government for that. ICASA is only upholding the law.

Starlink has not applied to industry regulator Icasa for the licences it needs to operate in South Africa.

This is believed to be due to the country’s ownership rules for telecom licensees — which include these licensees being at least 30% owned by historically disadvantaged groups.

If I'm not mistaken, Zim "reformed" or decolonised in 2001. That was 23 years ago. Why haven't they built anything yet? Why did the Chinese have to build the new parliamentary building for them?

Lol. Zimbabwe is a corrupt third world banana republic.The local licensee in Zimbabwe (IMC) is owned by the president himself (through a front, ex-convict Wicknell Chivhayo).

Starlink was told they would not be licensed unless they partnered with IMC.
