so as usual with these things its all about the bribes or who pays the most bribes to secure a technology,

who knows, maybe all the Fibre and LTE we have had in the last few years, was from the right amount of bribes being paid.
I mean do people still remember how expensive internet used to be? how you had to check how many MB you had all the time.
I mean it still is for many people, its gotten better but you know how these things go,

Government needs to make its cut of the funds first, then everybody can do what they want to do.

same thing with many other things holding back the economy, Cheap cars, Electricity generation, Construction mafias, Security companies,
people will find ways and means to make money, Government needs to get out of the way, and stop demanding tributes all the time to hold up its big expensive patronage networks.

hopefully the elections teach them that, unless they get rigged.
 
Zimbabwe is still suffering at the hands of sanctions, a destroyed economy and other things. But they are trying.

South Africa is at the mercy of whichever foreign country/persons have bought our government. China and Russia have a major influence on this country and possibly even on what happens next week.

And they're both anti-Starlink, so our Govt will find reasons not to implement it either. The 30% ownership thing is just one of many obstacles they have planned to stop Starlink here.

Who is we? This legal theft has only applied to a select few criminals who knowingly partake in it, it's kak dodgy, especially to the poor of SA, and deserves sanctions.

Working overdrive to get western interests out, wouldn't be surprised if years of loadshedding was included in that plan too, will go right back to that plan after this small pause too.
 
South Africans are generally too spineless to do anything except complain on the internet.

The Durban riots was a small glimpse that if the country pulls together they can sort **** out. But that was quickly forgotten.

What's also funny, Africa calls the refusal to trade with it as illegal sanctions yet when Africa refuses to trade with the West as normal course of business.

I actually thought he meant South Africans (whites, Indians and coloureds) can quickly shoot the rioters back to the stone age. Then I saw the hong kong tag.

But maybe that is what Zim needs, some anti government riots. Lol, why won't they? They know black lives do not matter for blacks.

I suspect that this conflict with Starlink will ultimately be resolved. President Ramaphosa will try everything feasible to attract and retain investors. Obviously there cannot be a separate licensing dispensation to accommodate Musk, but I suspect a solution is possible.

Starlink poses a major security risk to SA.

It's literally weaponized against our closest allies, we are BRICS, you're talking treason, bro.

The way this election might be going, this might be the last time we're allowed to even talk about it without consequences.

It's going to be 51% under new ICASA legislation.

They not only want free capital, they want control over how much cash they can suck from the ISP business as well.
