So my Hard Drive started to make a "Zing Zing Click" noise (last for 10 seconds) once every hour or so. Is it time to start with a back up?

It has done it for more than 3 months now, but it's occurring more and more over the last 2 weeks. :(

Does Storgate replace any other Hard Drives other than Segate (think it could be a Samsung) :(

Yikes!!!

How come everybody's hard drive is dying this year???

How old is the drive?

There is 2 drives in the case, so not sure which one it is. The oldest one was bought in '05. Still a warranty upto 2010 at Storgate (replaced it when it was 2 months old)

While it's always a good time to start backing up . . . good time might have just became critical.

Can you disconnect the one that is not for your OS... and then check which one makes the noise?

Yes, it is a good time to back up. I normally buy a new one, format it... and back up onto that... then install the OS onto it after the backup.
