Zoho or Afrihost

I would like to have a .com domain and email. Should i go local or Zoho. Is local safe as in no one will steal my take control of my website and email accounts ?

If it's just email then Zoho is fine. I'm using it and I like it a lot.

But then if you go local they won't take control of your website and email accounts. Provided you go with a reputable company of course. So local is perfectly safe.

I get my hosting from https://www.webspacebar.co.za/ (signed up for a 1gb webhosting service, but only use it for email - got 4 mailbox accounts at 250mb each setup) and have my websites hosted on my vultr vps. Just set the DNS settings correctly. Works perfectly
I even use their smtp server to function on my websites, like automating email confirmations etc.

If you take your website & email seriously, then host your website with a website hosting company, and host your email with a dedicated email solution like G Suite, O365 etc.

Oh, and with respect to "Is local safe as in no one will steal my take control of my website and email accounts ?" - Yes, but that's mostly up to you. Just don't use passwords like "password".
