Zootropolis

Our entire office is now watching the trailer.... you can see the moment the trailer gets to the the sloth joke... laughter all round

That slothful scene has to be one of the best I have seen in many a year. If there were no other great moments in it (and there were plenty!), it would have been worth it. I took my lad and his friends to see it and they were all raving about it afterwards.

Loved the movie 10/10... but here's a tip. Don't EVER go to see an animated movie in the cinema at 11:30 am on a Saturday.

...or 14h45 (also Saturday).

Easy. The large crowds of presumably kids.

85% easily kids in the sitting I went to. Add to this the few who got bored and were checking out the lights on stage :/

Best scene of the movie!

I watched the 3D version at a Ster Kinekor. Some flimsy plastic (blue) 3D glasses for R8. The 3D effects was non existent. I took the glasses off most of the movie as the screen was clearer and more colourful without the glasses. What a big waste of money.
I have watched only one 3D movie before this one (SpongeBob movie at Nu Metro Canal Walk) and was very impressed. But this sucked. Not sure if its the cinema or the movie itself that is to blame?

The movie itself was ok. 7/10.

Took my daughter and her friend to see it at the Zone, Sunday 12.30 show!! Brilliant!! Very entertaining!!

I took a nine-year-old kid to see the movie and he cried through the entire film. Now, maybe it was because he didn’t know who I was?

Steve Martin Martin joke :D

lol. I actually forgot I was watching a 3D movie. But yeah, you are right, there was no point to it being 3D.

what is the main difference between a 3d movie and a conventional one ? i had the glasses on but i didn't see any difference.

It should be blurrier without the glasses. There are 2 images projected on the screen from 2 different camera angles. Small distant objects in a view should be sufficiently blurred enough that you'll see duplicate objects. The glasses only allows the the one image for the one eye and the other image for the other eye because the light is polerised differently out of the projector source. This is what allows your eyes to see depth when putting on the 3d glasses.

If you don't see a difference aka depth or no depth, and both your eyes operate, you might have a condition.

I'm not a fan of 3d movies as well just because for some reason i can see frame sheering when stuff moves fast on the screen and the resolution needs to be better. But my best 3d theater experience had to be Imax at cape gate.

Watched it few days back.

Class A story & implementation...very impressive.

I think Inside Out from 2015 just pips it though as the best animated movie in recent years.
