President Jacob Zuma has lost control and should be recalled with immediate effect, UDM leader Bantu Holomisa said on Sunday.

The sentiments follow Zuma’s decision to recall newly appointed Minister of Finance David van Rooyen and replacing him with Pravin Gordhan.

"Its clear President Zuma has lost control. He is actually panicking beyond comprehension as we speak," he said.

"Its clear also that he was told to remove this guy [van Rooyen] perhaps by Luthuli house but it is not going to work. They should recall Zuma immediately, recall and go back home," said Holomisa.

The Presidency issued a statement on Sunday confirming the appointment.

"I have received many representations to reconsider my decision. As a democratic government, we emphasise the importance of listening to the people and to respond to their views," the Presidency said in a statement.

"I have appointed Pravin Gordhan, the current minister of cooperative governance and traditional affairs as the new minister of finance. Minister Gordhan will return to a portfolio that he had held proficiently during the fourth administration."

Van Rooyen, who replaced Nhlanhla Nene, will be transferred to the Cogta. He was appointed on Wednesday and sworn in on Thursday amid mixed reactions from the country. The move also saw the rand plummeting to its lowest mark in years.

"I have also decided to appoint the current Minister of Finance David van Rooyen as the new minister of cooperative governance and traditional affairs. Mr Van Rooyen, a former executive mayor, will also be bringing to Cogta the finance and economic sector background gained in serving in the Finance Portfolio Committee and Economic Transformation Cluster as whip in National Assembly. He has been mandated to take forward the Back to Basics programme and further improve cooperation between the three spheres of government," said the statement.

The timing of the announcement is intriguing. In my mind, I see a lot of the "cadre's" debating with Zuma, plus lots of sms's and cell phone talks amongst the factions as the weekend draws to a close. I see Zuma falling asleep because he is filled with the shower-free version of HIV. And some thinking this will make a change.

I say down with Zuma. Ignoramus of the highest order.

In order to lose control you would have to have had control in the first place.

There is another candidate who is extremely well qualified when it comes to the tradition of having affairs, recall van Rooyen and make Zumatello the new COGTA minister, let someone else preside over the country's future.

The whole lot must go.
DA get your act together Now.

Zuma has primed himself to be taken down. I'll be ecstatic when he's gone. Hopefully another moron doesn't exceed Zuma's ability to fail.

The problem is the entire NEC Executive has to be removed, the next in line will just be another Muppet...

The problem is not only the next moron, but those that are currently serving in ZANC government. He has set the tone at the top and that has trickled down to others, and possibly a society as a whole. In essence, when he leaves office, he will have instilled his philosophies in others and left a legacy. Look to our neighbour of the north - Zimbabwe - when Mad Bob kicks the bucket, those underneath him will take over and be just as bad.

It will take a great deal to get back on the right track and reinstate confidence in a competent government.

So then, if you want to listen to the people, then hear them when they ask you to leave, vacate, vamoose ..... get the fek out of Dodge and dont look back, you parasite.

What does your little organ grinder monkey Malema say .... oh yes, you are like a used condom.

He and his extended family should be stripped of all benefits and a nice long stint in prison would be good.
But hey, he still has people worshipping at his feet.

Next time you laugh at children who believe in father Christmas, just remember there are adults who believe in Zuma.
