Zuma's Watergate

Its it really too much to hope the NEC next month will properly divide the party and cause so much fighting that it practically destroys itself opening the way for someone else to take the next elections.

Not ideal. The DA is very unlikely to win 50%, meaning we'll have a very unstable coalition government or a minority government. You'd have votes of no confidence every few weeks, tons of posing, swapped bedfellows, and bribed MPs all over the place.

Hopefully the ANC will split in half after the December conference.
Problem is, it will split along tribal lines.

I think the anc top brass is mostly Zulu these days. Would love to see some stats as there has been a few articles on 'zumas zulu nationalism'.

The only thing that made it all possible is the blind support which ANC voters maintained. Through thick and thin. To the point where our public institutions were left powerless. With support like that anybody can get away with anything, because the public rejected that essential protection in favor of traditional values of power distribution.

100% on the money. The blind support / tradition/tribalism mentality is what made all this possible. Tradition/tribalism mentality = chief can do whatever he wants, the masses will just allow it.

Nothing will happen.
A similar agreement will be reached like in Zimbabwe where Mugabe resigned under the condition that he could continue to live in Zimbabwe and be immune to prosecution.
