Anyone know these guys, use them? Had any good or bad experiences?

I recieved a really good quote from my broker through Zurich, the premiums are great, but there are tons of complaints about them on hellopeter

Apparently they used to be SA Eagle?

I go through a broker through zurich...great premiums, they paid out for my accident damages with no fuss
had assessment done next day, paid out almost instantly..
Very hassle free

yip same here - but i think alot revolves around the broker and how efficient they are.

Yes, Zurich South Africa used to be known as SA Eagle, however, Zurich bought out SA Eagle about a year or two ago I think?

In anycase, this is a flipping massive company, and I'm sure they are a safe place to go insure through :)

Zurich is fine. Used to be SA Eagle locally. Now part of international firm. Solid reputation and company. Can't speak to premium rates etc. but certainly reputable.

I am insured with them through a broker. Decent premiums; the only insurance company who were able to better them at the time were underwritten by A&G (which I refused as they have a reputation for finding any loophole to get out of paying on a claim).

Have a claim with Zurich at the moment, and they've delayed assessing it for about 2.5 weeks now.
Up to now, have had no issues with them. But I've never had a claim before.

The delays seem to be have been purely on the assessor's side, though. It's just been escalated at the broker, and I hope that they will be doing something soon.
I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt on the delay, but I hope that they extend the car rental period as a sign of their goodwill, since the delays have been exclusively on their side. This point will be a huge factor in determining whether I remain with the broker and Zurich for the long term.

My dad has been working with them, and alas, they having a few admin issues because there's a lot of BEE assessor firms that aren't playing fair (delays etc)... I think Zurich is trying their best to sort out the problems though seeing as it was a massive investment made by Zurich... so I don't think they are going to stifle their money ;).

I am also with Zurich and would highly recommend them.

Last year when some moron didn't stop at a red light and drove into my car, I waited almost 2 months for his insurance company to pay for damages! I then phoned my broker and claimed for damages and by the following week my car was at the panelbeaters. At least Outsurance phoned me at the start of this month asking my account details so they can pay me back the excess I had to pay my broker.
