Zxyel wireless router

I have a 20mbps Fibre line through WebAfrica and Digital Villages.

Connectivity is very up and down, and speed tests on my broadband often reflect 2 mbps or less.

I don't have an Ethernet port on my laptop so can't test connectivity directly.

I suspect the standard Zxyel router supplied is not the greatest, not sure the model, picture attached

Its supposed to come preconfigured, so I haven't tried to tweak anything. Anyone have any experience of it, advice on configuration tweaks? Alternatively, any recommendations re alternatives.

I have the same router from WA, I works well.

Have you raised your issues experienced with the ISP?
 
Yes - I have they need me to test the wired speed, i.e. using an ethernet cable, but I don't have a port. Will try and sort something out. Thanks for the feedback.
 
Incidentally are you Openserve, or Digital Villages or someone else?

Hi, also try changing the channels from auto to channel 1, 9 or 13.

I'm in the same boat with you, I'm also with WebAfrica and SA Digital Villages on 20/20. My connection also degrades from time to time mostly at night but my speed tests have never been under 15mbps. At night connection to overseas websites like Twitch.tv and multiple different sites also become unbearably slow. All my tickets with WebAfrica go mostly un answered and disappear from my account after a few days of no communication from webafrica.

My friend is with also with WebAfrica but on Vumatel 100/100 and has 0 problems with the same router. So it's definitely not the router.
