Anyone used this to quit smoking?

Did you quit and how long did you have to stay on the tablets?
Which side effects did you experience?

It's my 6th day that I am on these tablets, and I am still smoking.

Yea well your suppose to stop after 10 days right?

I did and i stopped for 3 months and stopped zyban after a month which was silly. Stay on zyban for at least 3 months.

Remember one key factor if you don't actually want to stop in your mind your wasting your money.

I'm clean for 7 months now.

I used it for 90:o days and i recomend you doing so.

I was a bit depressed ( but like someone explained it was my body not the pills)

Best thing Discovery has paid for so far.

Edit sorry.... horrible monday:o

Mila, did you use it for 90 months or 90 days? Did you have any side effects, like pain in the chest?

As with everything in life it's about willpower more so than the meds. The meds will help a little but it's up to you if you want to quit.

I used it. I bought Zyban for 90 days, but only used about 50 pills. I am now an ex-smoker for about 30 months.

You must just have the will power to quit. Zyban will not take away the urge to smoke. But, if you do not smoke, it will make the withdrawal symptoms easy to manage.

The only side effect that I can now remember, is that it was as if I had no care in the world. It was kind-of nice!

I used it twice, both times stopped for two months - but it screwed with my sleeping, I had horrible dreams!

Unfortunately drinking and holiday were the culprits - I started smoking again. :p

Yea only if you take zyban late will it affect your sleeping, the dreams were amazing, i loved going to sleep just to have those vivid dreams.

Nothing i have ever taken has made my dreams so amazing.

My ex bf was like that, i told him he should consider drinking it for the rest of his live:D

When a doctor prescibed it to me years ago he told me that they are basically anti-depressants.

Can anyone confirm this?

Something like 80% of all known medicines are not used for the purpose it was developed.

Something like this happened:
People on Zyban in the trial did not become significantly less depressed but the smokers quitted.
That’s why for some people it does makes them more relaxed and works like a anti depressant. But for most it does not.

No it was develop to be anti depressant, someone got clever and decide to use an anti depressant for the purpose of helping smokers quit.

It does work because it relaxes you and makes you far less angry and depressed.

Thanx,

But it's weird though, I know of another person on anti-depressants that smokes much more nowadays than before being on them. The person says that the nicotene has less of a satisfying effect now, causing more of a need to smoke.

What I do know is that when I was on them and tried to have a smoke it tasted very bad.

Yea but it's mind over matter.

If you take an anti depressant that does not say it helps you quit your mind will make you think it cannot help, if you take an anti depressant that says this will help you quit your mind already thinks ok this is going to help me quit smoking.

Stopped cold turkey. man what an emotional joyride that was. I'd recommend using the zyban instead. It's hell otherwise.
Going on 2 years clean though so was worth it :D
