Now that Telkom has lost interest in it, is there any chance of future firmware updates.

The updates posted on the global site date are 2008-10 and are performance orientated.

My last update is V3.40(AUJ.0)b5_10_22 | 10/22/2007

Don't understand the problem, Telkom doesn't manufacture this router, you can download firmware from their (ZyXel) website, http://www.zyxel.com/web/support_do...lIndexflags=0,420051104155258,420060412185046.

Last one dated 08-09-2010, I've still never updated my firmware though.

Let me ask a few questions to anyone who owns it, are you able to add more than 1 bandwidth management rule without seeing an error out of memory or similar? Does your's sort of crash when you look at the firewall section?

Ok, let me explain to you...
The version of the router Telkom distributed has an AUJ firmware version which is a customized firmware. You are only able to flash the firmware with other customized AUJ firmware versions.
The site has ADQ firmware and therefore does not work.

That is my problem.

Oh dam that sucks, so I guess we have crap routers then. Does ZyXel have a support center or technical support or something we can ask?

They do, I have asked.

Basically Marconi supplied Telkom with the Zyxel routers. Marconi have now stopped supplying Telkom with the routers (I think they might have even closed down).
Our Zyxel routers can only take the custom AUJ firmware which Zyxel obviously cannot provide as they did not create it or have any links to the firmware (apart from it being for one of their products which has been rebranded by Telkom now).

Some boot thingy needs to be changed in order for us to be able to flash it with normal Zyxel firmware. Changing that boot thingy is only possible by a Zyxel technician.
I am running the b4 version of the firmware and my router is SUPER unstable at the moment. I am forced to use another router which I luckily have access to. My Zyxel drops my line soo often, the ISP account gets dropped a lot too (obviusly when the line drops as well, but I am talking about when the line has not dropped). THe router randomly resets, if I try go to certain places from within the web interface the router will reset at times. It has only started happening since I had my line upgraded to a 6Mbit line.
Before then it was not this unstable.

Although it cannot be the line as with the other router I am using it is pretty much perfectly stable... So therefore it has to be the router.
If I could at least get my hands on the b5 version of the firmware I am hoping it would help me out quite a bit.
