Cell C WhatsApp bundle price increase
Cell C has announced it will increase the price of its WhatsApp bundle from R12 to R15 on 1 February 2018.
Cell C’s WhatsApp bundle offers users access to WhatsApp for 30 days, with a fair usage limit of 600MB.
Cell C launched its WhatsApp bundle promotion in October 2014, which provided subscribers with free text, image sending, or voice messages over WhatsApp.
When the promotion ended in August 2015, the company launched a R5 WhatsApp bundle – giving subscribers a month’s access to WhatsApp with a fair usage limit of 1GB.
In May 2016, Cell C increased the price of its WhatsApp bundle from R5 to R7.50 – but increased the fair use limit to 1.2GB.
On 1 February 2017, Cell C increased the price of the WhatsApp bundle from R7.50 to R12 per month.
On 1 October 2017, Cell C changed its fair usage policy of its WhatsApp bundle to 600MB.
