MTN Sky – unlimited calls, data, SMS
MTN will launch its MTN Sky service on Tuesday 1 April 2014, offering subscribers unlimited voice calls, data and SMS from R1,699 per month.
The new MTN Sky package also includes priority call centre support, free smartphone repairs and access to local and international airport lounges.
The company stated that the unlimited data comes with a 5GB fair use limit. A subscriber’s Internet access will be slowed down (throttled) once they have reached the maximum usage of 5GB per month.
MTN also explained that MTN Sky subscribers will have a maximum of 24 visits to international and local Bidvest lounges.
There are two basic MTN Sky contract packages:
- MTN Sky SIM-only package at R1,699 on a 24 month contract
- MTN Sky package with a handset at R1,999 on a 24 month contract (the price may differ depending on the chosen handset).
There is also a range of MTN Sky prepaid products, including:
- MTN Sky Absolute (2GB) at R599 – Unlimited calls and SMS to all networks and 2GB of data. Lasts for 7 days.
- MTN Sky Super (1GB) at R999 – Unlimited calls and SMS across all networks and access 1GB of data. Lasts for 30 days.
- MTN Sky Super (Uncapped) at R999 – Unlimited calls and SMS across all networks, uncapped data with a Fair Use Policy of 3GB. Lasts for 15 days.
- MTN Sky Ultimate (Uncapped) at R1799 – Unlimited calls and SMS across all networks, uncapped data with a Fair Use Policy of 5GB. Lasts for 30 days.
