Second Tesla self-driving crash
A second Tesla self-driving crash has been reported, where the driver’s Model X rolled while in autopilot mode.
According to the Detroit Free Press, the car hit a guard rail “off the right side of the roadway, and then crossed over the eastbound lanes and hit the concrete median”.
“After that, the Tesla Model X rolled onto its roof and came to rest in the middle eastbound lane.” The driver survived.
The crash comes shortly after a Tesla Model S Autopilot crash in which the driver was killed, which resulted in a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation.
Tesla confirmed the investigation, saying it is the first known fatality in over 130 million miles of Autopilot driving.
