Apple App Store suffers first major attack
Apple is cleaning out its iOS App Store to remove malicious iPhone and iPad programs after suffering a large attack. This is according to a report by Reuters.
Apple confirmed the security breach after cyber security firms said they found a malicious program called XcodeGhost embedded in hundreds of apps.
XcodeGhost is iOS malware arising from a malicious version of Xcode, Apple’s tool for developing iOS and OS X apps.
Palo Alto Networks said many popular iOS apps have been infected, including WeChat – one of the most-used IM applications in the world.
