Telkom must really wake up: CEO
Telkom CEO Sipho Maseko said that it is time for the company to wake up and start to deal with the real reasons why its customers are leaving the operator.
Speaking to staff on 12 May 2014, Maseko said that they have seen that Telkom customers are “refusing to give us their money”.
“They are going elsewhere – they are giving their money to somebody else for a whole lot of reasons,” said Maseko.
Maseko said that it is time for Telkom to “really wake up and start to deal fundamentally with why it is that customers are leaving us”.
He added that Telkom needs to do something about it. “Firstly in terms of self-help, but more importantly be able to offer those customers the services and products that they need,” said Maseko.
The Telkom CEO said that the more the company improves, and the more it delivers on its objectives to its customers, the less likely it is to embark on programs which will cost jobs.
