My questions:

New program Suggestions.
What new channels are TopTV busy trying to get, please give me as much info on this as possible.

Please see about acquiring the following
Comedy Central
Sy Fy

6. We are busy considering a number of new channels. For various reasons, not the least of which is competitive advantage, we are not at liberty to disclose details around these channels. But we shall be adding channels in the near future which we believe will give further value to existing and prospective subscribers.

7. The Comedy Channel is not available for South Africa – we are investigating an alternative. Sci-fi is available but we were unable to agree a realistic fee with the supplier. Perhaps now that we have launched and are in a stronger position than before, we can consider reopening those talks.

What?! ahhh nooooooooooooooooooooooo

oh well - guess i'll just download the shows then....

Sy fy channel definitely. Even if they up the premiums I'll be willing to pay it.

Dont know why dstv got rid of the sci-fi channel. I wonder what other channels they have up their sleeves and when they will launch

The Horror Channel (Zone Horror) is the ONLY channel I get excited for.

Lol, they recently announced the addition of a few **** channels (Mzansi or some crap, Afro music, some children's channel).

@ least TT are willing to let us know a bit more that MC ... okay so we know they are looking into an alternative for Comdey Central, more thatn MC has ever told us. As long as the don't have some sad additions like MC's new channels ... though honestly they need to add on to the kiddies channels ... children have a some clout when getting their parents to get out a sub ... + I watch them still ... lol!!

PS ... what were points 1-5? Or is that a secret? ;)

Astroturf: Who did you mail for that info?
I've been struggling to get a reply from them for ages via mail.

@ Dyl106:
1. When will the USB port be enabled for PVR usage? We are often not at home when certain programs are on and other programs are only on once a day so we never get to watch them (e.g. Mythbusters).
2. Will I need to buy specific equipment for it to work or can I use one of the many removable drives I already own?
3. Will a decent, printable TV guide be coming out any time soon? The current one on the website is terrible to use and impossible to print out economically.
4. When I change channels or when there is very quick movement in the program there is very slight interlacing on the images, will this be repaired?
5. The EPG's info on programs is often truncated meaning you can not read everything about a program that will show, There is not always relevant info on the upcoming shows either (actors, year, e.t.c.) will this be rectified?

1. We have not planned to enable the USB port for recording but rather other value added services. We are busy developing the PVR and will have it ready early in 2011.

2. Answered in 1 above.

3. We are currently implementing measures to improve the TV guide on the website, ensuring accurate availability of information and making it more user friendly.

4. We are aware of this problem and addressing it with our suppliers. As soon as a solution is available we will do a software download to solve the problem.

5. In terms of specifications we have limited character space for the synopsis and the EPG. We have also set a project in motion to increase the EPG character space which will address this problem.

[email protected] she is brokken (keeps sending me my emails less the formatting back to me a day later).

has anyone realised that some seasons of shows are being repeated on toptv especially fox channels (e.g fearfactor season 2 just finished now they gonna start from season 1 again and already watched season 1 and 2 twice already)?

Have noticed some reruns on Discovery as well.

I think FOXFX is restarting to accommodate the top tv subscribers (so we can see everything from Season1 instead of starting at season 2 or 3).

It is a pity. It has chased me away. I would have repeated the shows in a different timeslot and continued with new episodes in Prime Time. Effectively I have nothing to watch now in the series line. I will check back later in the year and see if TopTV has new channels as promised. I hope they succeed. We need competition in the pay tv market.

If it's not I am less R500 and a couple of months subscription cost when I cancel.

*shrugs*
