Jailbroken - Check!
Cydia - Check!
Downloaded "NES" from Cydia - Check!

....but no icon on the iPhone "Desktop" or springboard(?)

if you download something through Cydia, how do you get it to show up?

Has anyone done this before?

And after it is installed, how do you get the roms on to the phone?

Not quite what you're after, but how about this:

Sometimes items in Cydia don't show up until a reboot. Sometimes they are missing a necessary resource which needs to be installed first.

Also sometimes you have to SSH into your phone over wifi and manually move files there, that sucks, the filesystem is complex!

LOL! That it is! But at the same time, it's pretty awesome, in a morbid sorta way... :) The scary thing is, it ran way faster than it ever did on my old Pentium MMX...

Ok

So go to cydia:

Add this source here:

Let Cydia refresh the data.

Under sections, check under X Games

Install emulators wanted.

Reboot.

The icon should be on your springboard. If not I suspect you have a conflicting theme/mod.

To add roms:
You need WiFi
Open cydia install openssh. Reboot.
On your pc: Install a ssh client (winscp for windows)

To get your ip: go to settings- wifi. Click on the blue arrow, make a note of the ip address.

Fire up winscp enter your ip, user: root password: alpine (see cydia on how to change the password.
Under advance - set the time out to 90 seconds. Your iPhone should remain unlocked while you're transfering files.

Hit login and an explorer style interface should pop up.

Most games go under: var/mobile/Media/ROMs (case sensitive)

You can also download games from the builtnin browser under the emulator.

Pm me if you have any hiccups
