NeoBroadband fibre FTTX pricing details

I'm waiting for installation so I can test, my client sends quite a bit of mail and 512k up on ADSL is just not cutting it.

It should be noted that the service comes without any Service Level Agreements (SLA), there are no upload and download performance commitments and it is essentially a best effort broadband product.

We offer a service but we're not sure how well it works. We'll try our very best though...

Neotel’s NeoBroadband fibre product is currently only available to businesses located in areas where the company has existing fibre infrastructure, and clients need to sign a 12 month contract.

Sign on the dotted line and hope for the best.

Well done Neotel. Well done.

I think the performance of Neotel’s fibre broadband service will ultimately determine whether it is fair pricing or not. It is not badly priced in terms of business connections, but then it must provide business type performance. I also don’t think a low FUP limit is acceptable on these products.

neotel dont seem to be so heavy on the FUP. we have a normal 2mb uncapped wireless line from neotel and use on average +-300gb a month. they've never complained yet, this could be good ... hopfully

Neotel fails again. One wonders if by chance, by sheer luck, they might succeed at SOMETHING. Anything.

According to Neotel the service is suitable for clients whose “applications are not bandwidth intensive”.

Here Joe, here is a symmetric fibre product for a R1500 setup fee plus R1600 per month (EX VAT), plus we lock you in for 12 months, but we don't offer a SLA. We do however offer a compulsory fair use policy, but we can't tell you what it is. Oh and our FIBRE product is not meant for bandwidth intesive applications. Only email and web browsing, OK Joe? Oh, and did we mention that this is a best effort service, but we only offer this to business. Joe, are you a business? Joe, do you live in an area that we cover? Joe are you still there?

Dear Joe - it's a good thing you ran away when you did. Some advice (that you probably already know): stick with Telkom ADSL. You won't regret it (as much).

How can a service provider attempt to provide a service that they can not guarantee OR even apply an SLA to and expect their target market to sign a 12 month contract for it? Realistically it just doesn't make any sense.

Well said, Saajid!

15k for 15mb :wtf::wtf:OMFG!!!! id rather have 10mb ADSL thanks ;)

15 Mb/s - Upload & Download - thats the difference as opposed to 10 Mb/s ADSL with 10 Mb/s download and 1 Mb/s upload

Crazy pricing - compared to Switzerland where you can get 100Mb/s Fiber (up & download) for R7k/month

But this is African pricing

Everything about this product is so lame and weak.
Excuses already put in place for their imminent F-up's.
No SLA's, a best effort blah blah blah.

As stated earlier, pathetic.

This is probably going to turn into a VERY expensive dial-up solution. Good luck to those who read all the feedback in the Neotel thread, and still go and order this crap.

Fail,

we will try give the speed we are selling, when you burst to it, and we not too busy,
we are giving you uncapped, but not uncapped as we have a fup that we not going to tell you as its a secret,
we are not going to tell you if the fup is diffrent for the diffrent speeds,

and with this in mind we are going to make you sign a 12 month contract so you can try it nd see...

once again FAIL!
