It's always a pleasure to see such dishonest advertising get struck down in this country. I wonder how the trademark thing with their new logo is going as well.

They still have the cheapest 3.75G offerings in the whole country, less than R50 a gig while MTN and Voda charge more than R280 per GB. Can't wait for JHB to come alive especially after the Durban launch,

Cant say i didn't see this ruling coming, but while mtn and voda think they've won here.. they REALLY need to play catch up with the pricing either way

And people thought Vodacom and MTN were not going to respond to CellC's new prices... :erm:

I would simple change everything to say 3.75G...

I don't understand what angle Cell C is working here. Surely they knew what the consequence of going about things the way they did would be?

Anyway, they are still the benefactors of all the attention these disputes are drawing. At the very least their dishonesty through marketing and media has resulted in a raised awareness that they are still alive and kicking.

As always, the masses are drawn to the loudest voice.

Cell C (and Trevor) is annoyingly loud atm.

MTN & Voda seems to be bitching and moaning about Cell C's good notions to take the finger out their asses and set a precedence! That said, MTN ...you're about to loose my business (no way in hell am I renewing my contract with you mofo's) Enough of this screwing the man in the street for every dime. By time someway say let jack up the dam service and get the ball rolling to at least near the same quality of the broadband in the UK (for eg.). Telkom... maybe just maybe you should take Cell C an an example to follow!

These companies have nothing better to do than take part in a mud slinging competition. I just wish that they put as much energy as they did in this back into there customers.

The ASA has upheld complaints from Vodacom and MTN about Cell C’s new “4GS” advertising campaign

More free advertising for Cell C !

Go Cell C, will pick a few bundles this weekend in Umhlanga !!! Bye Vodacom Data !

And if it works well enough at my house in Joburg I'm canning my 4Mbps ADSL as well - had enough of being ripped off for line costs ! I may keep 384k 1GB just for backup.

Me, I'm supporting the underdogs, especially if it suits my pocket !

Cube, sometimes doing something bad (as in the case of Cell C deliberately using the 4G later 4Gs) is in actual fact a well planned move as it provokes your competitors in reacting (the way they've already done) and allows them (your competitors) to simply advertise your product on your behalf thus lowering your advertising budget. Thanks MTN & Voda ... (",)

Good! It is misleading

Can't wait for them to launch in pta, will sign up on the first day!

Cell C deserves all the crap they get. They are misleading the public and they are launching their bogus service in the most obscure places in order to avoid people swamping their backbone. Then again, I would not expect anything less from such a BS company. Burn in hell Cell C.

4GS = 4get speed

While I like what CellC is doing to the current mobile data space, I am glad to see the "4Gs" go. It irks me because I know it isn't a real 4G network, and it would probably have gotten worse when consumers start saying they are using CellC's 4G (without the S) network and it is better than Vodacom's 3G network.

CellC could probably just call it 3.75G - although it isn't as memorable and as "wow" as 4G.
Still - I hope that the brief time CellC was able to advertise 4Gs, it was at least able to gain new subscribers (and mindshare) to give it the momentum to shake the market!

Free publicity for CellC here. No such thing as bad PR..... Now even more people are going be talking about how they getting ripped off by Vodacom & MTN.

Its a win win for CellC.

Cheer up mate. So grumpy! They'll be in Gauteng soon then they'll basically have all the major centres covered. You can't deny they are faster and cheaper than any other 3G service.

Go Cell C!! (,")

I'd rather live with Cell C lying to me, my customers and the rest of South Africa about 4G vs 3.75G, then live with Vodacom and MTN screwing us over with ridiculous pricing, over-billing, pathetic service, complicated 24 month contracts, general dishonesty and lies, monopolistic and oppressive business practices, and general disregard for their very own customers.

At the end of the day, we all still know that Cell C have launched a 21mbps HSPA+ network. Who the **** cares what they call it?

Screw you VodaScum, and eMpTyN. I hate you so much, that I will be advertising for Cell C at my own cost, wherever I can, either through our website, word of mouth, or pushing Cell C products to my clients.
